Country Soul Songbook is an artist-driven and -focused media platform and production team that spotlights performances, interviews, in-depth conversations and cultural offerings rooted in our mission to amplify historically marginalized voices (BIPOC/LGBTQIA+) in Country, Americana and American roots music.
We produce content and media that documents this community’s creative work, including re-interpretations of the Country/Americana/roots canon, cultural criticism, and tributes to the forgotten voices of these genres. The community endeavor paints a fuller picture of the American story, as it becomes an easily accessible archive that celebrates the past, present, and future of these musical lineages through underrepresented voices.
CSSB organizes performance events, quarterly broadcasts, and an annual virtual Summit, to facilitate the sharing of ideas among an ecosystem of passionate advocates for the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists and creatives who create and care about this music and culture.
